Case Study — Consumer App Demo
SparkToo — a full dating network, built on WhatsApp.
A working consumer product where users build profiles, upload photos, browse matches, and connect — all without leaving WhatsApp. We built it to find out how far Intalos could be pushed. Turns out: pretty far.
The Challenge
Can a chatbot host a real consumer product?
Most chatbots solve one small thing — answer FAQs, take a booking. We wanted to find out whether Intalos could power something that’s traditionally an entire native app: stateful, two-sided, full of media. Dating felt like the ultimate stress test, so we built one.
- Profile creation with photos and free-text bio.
- Long-running, stateful flows that survive across days.
- A two-sided marketplace — match logic that requires both users to opt in.
- Media upload and display through the messenger’s own UI — no app, no portal.
The Solution
The whole dating journey, in one chat.
A user says hi to SparkToo on WhatsApp. The bot collects preferences, photos and bio — using WhatsApp’s own native media handling. Then it shows match candidates as cards, lets the user say yes or skip, and notifies on mutual matches.
No app store. No install. No new account or password. The interface the user already knows from talking to friends is now also a fully featured dating product.

Full walkthrough
How it works.
Four steps, all inside a normal WhatsApp conversation.
1
Say hi on WhatsApp
User opens a chat with the SparkToo number — same as messaging any other contact.
2
Build a profile in chat
Bot asks for interests, what the user is looking for, and photos — uploaded straight via WhatsApp.
3
Browse matches
Bot sends candidate profiles as cards. Tap a button to like, or skip and see the next one.
4
Mutual match → connect
When two users like each other, the bot notifies both and they can take it from there.
What this proves.
Zero install, zero friction
Works on any WhatsApp client. No app store listing, no signup form, no email confirmation. Users are productive on the first message.
Native media + state
Photo upload uses WhatsApp’s own attachment UI. The bot remembers user state — profile, preferences, prior decisions — across days and weeks.
Real product complexity
Profiles, two-sided matching, notifications, persistent state. The kind of thing usually reserved for native apps — proven in chat.
Got an ambitious idea? Let’s see if it’ll fit on WhatsApp.
SparkToo was built to find the limits of chat-based products. There’s a lot of room there for booking systems, marketplaces, learning, support, and more. If you’re thinking about something complex, we’d love to talk it through.
